“After a little hiatus, the Triphouse Rotterdam label is back with a banging four track EP by talented debutant Shobba. This up and comer from the big city of Rotterdam presents his first ever house productions. With his sound carefully balancing between uk house, bass and garage you would never guess that he comes from a rock/hip-hop background. From the anthem-like title track Cosmic Jungle, the serious bounce of Nightshade, banging beats of M51A, to the deep underwater sounds of Abyssal, this ep contains four solid pieces of well-crafted genre bending music.
Atmospheric melodies, 808 subs and influences from the underground UK house movement characterize the sound of this 28 year-old Rotterdam based producer.
After his guitar studies Shobba started touring with experimental indie bands as lead guitar player. It was in this period that he started exploring electronic music and was quickly drawn into the deeper side of house and techno. Being influenced by lables such as Hot Flush and Hessle Audio he decided to put the guitar down and start producing.
Nowadays Shobba aka Vincent de Corte is a steady component in the Rotterdam nightlife. With residencies at spots such as Toffler, Maassilo and Bar.
