Sound Architecture ADE Showcase 2014
During the Amsterdam Dance Event the Sound Architecture organisation will bring a selection of it’s artists to Club 8. Label boss Joachim started the label in Rotterdam but relocated back to his Flemish roots and currently hails from the city of Antwerp. Beside the label he also runs several events and club nights and even opened up his own record store last year. He is well known for his keen nose when it comes to spotting forward thinking sounds and has been on the forefront of the dutch and belgian nightlife since the late 90’s. Those who have visited a Sound Architecture night before know what will roll out of the clubs PA; a wave of percussion driven house and techno, funky, sometimes dreamy but always stripped of all unnecessary elements. Less is more has always been the labels philosophy and that’s exactly what you will get during this ADE showcase. Raw and uncut grooves, tailored for a critical dancefloor.
Specially for this showcase Joachim invited the Canadian dub specialist Deadbeat, an act that has been a steady favourite of the deep and dubby house lovers. After releases on labels such as ~scape and Wagon Repair a release on Sound Architecture quickly followed and that’s why Deadbeat couldn’t miss out on this line-up. For many years the Chilean Felipe Valenzuela has been part of the Sound Architecture family. He quickly rose to fame with his hitrecord ‘’Hole In The Middle” on Cadenza and joined Luciano to perform all around the world. Also on the bill is the Belgian Igor Vincente who, together with Vernon Bara as their alter-ego Ultrasone, released several smash records on labels such as Visionquest and Hot Creations. His remix for Alejandro Vivanco’s “Vitamin Z” EP on Sound Architecture was received very well. Hreno is also from Canada but currently resides in Berlin. During the last years he released an impressive string of tracks and remixes on Meander, Fur Trade, Turbo Recordings and others, both solo as well as together with his studiopartner The Mole. Although he performed in the Netherlands before, this will be his Amsterdam debut. Deadbeat and Hreno teamed up for the forthcoming Sound Architecture release and more likely than not the audience will get a sneak preview of their collaboration. The line up will be complemented with performances by Sunday Matinee residents Arne and Delbaen and of course the head honcho Joachim himself.
Everybody that is eager to widen his or her’’s musical horizon is hereby invited to take a unique glimpse into the soul of this illustrious label from Antwerp. Be sure to get your tickets in advance now, because Club 8 has a limited capacity. The first 50 paying visitors will also receive a special gift on entry; one of the labels vinyl releases. Which one it will be will be kept secret until the night commences.
