This Friday the 360 Degrees crew has an event at BIRD Rotterdam.
360 Degrees is an evening with house as a base, but also provides trips to obscure afrobeat, disco, boogie and electronica. For the summer edition, they have Liam Butler and Jack J., or the Pender Street Steppers, as guests.
In recent years, the Pender Steet Steppers (also known under the aliases “the Steppers” or simply “PSS”) has become the epitome of the bustling house scene of Vancouver. The production and DJ duo consists of Liam Butler and Jack J. Their musical debut consisted of a cassette on the Mood Hut Cassettes label: “Life In The Zone”. This tape includes tracks which labels, like the legendary PPU from Washington DC and Vancouver’s Mood Hut Records, picked up and released on vinyl. The recordings became immediately collectors items and made the Pender Street Steppers known all over the world. Through online magazine XLR8 they were recently elected as the musical talents of 2015.
With the Pender Street Steppers behind the turntables you can expect deep house, disco and Canadian jazz-funk on the dance floor. Before Pender Street Steppers, 360 Degrees resident Thelonious will warm up the floor with a mix of disco, soul, boogie, house and afro.
